The Brazilian National Archives published 30 new documents with reports from airline pilots detailing UFO sightings over Brazilian airspace in 2023.
The files were provided by the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) in accordance with the legislation which regulates all documents about UFOs created by the institution.
According to records, most of the sightings reported to Cindacta (Integrated Center for Air Defense and Air Traffic Control) took place in the southern region of the country, especially in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.
Among the documents are forms, video files and audio files between pilots and control towers.
Some reports caught attention, especially those that describe UFOs at great speeds.
On the coast of Santa Catarina, a pilot observed a cobblestone-shaped UFO 10 meters long. The object seen was emitting what appeared to be a trail of condensation, passing 3 meters away from the aircraft.
A pilot reported seeing a stationary UFO as he approached the airport of Porto Alegre (RS). The object glowed with colors ranging from white to orange and seemed to increase and decrease in size.
A cigar-shaped UFO measuring 2.5 meters long was spotted in Rio de Janeiro and according to the document, the object was making “jumps” in the airspace.
In the city of Ilha Comprida (SP), a pilot saw four to five UFOs that were flying at Mach 8 (almost 10,000 km/h) with flashing white lights. The UFOs flew in circles and according to the report did not correspond to a satellite, space debris or any other known phenomenon.
Another pilot claimed to have seen a circular red and green light that varied in size and flew ten times faster than a commercial plane.
Another report in Amazonas says that several white luminous objects with no defined shape were observed flying and performing “jumps” in the airspace below the aircraft’s altitude.
The National Archives has nearly 1,000 records related to UFO sightings in Brazil.
