Seth Shostak of the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) believes that it is difficult for us to find “little green men”.

Therefore, questioning what extraterrestrials would look like makes a lot of sense, but more and more the idea of the little green man with antennas is outdated.

Now, Seth Shostak, director of the SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence), has made a suggestion unlike anything science fiction movies propose.

According to the representative of the organization, which for more than twenty years has been pointing radio telescopes to the sky in the hope of picking up some sign of intelligent life, the aliens would look more like machines than Steven Spielberg’s characters, a direction in which humans themselves are heading.

“Think about what we’re doing in this century, inventing machines with intelligence. Aliens have probably already done this, so it’s likely that real ETs look like machines,” Shostak said on the StarTalk program, hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
