The Brazilian incident that became known worldwide as the “Official UFO Night” occurred on the night of May 19, 1986, when around 20 Unidentified Flying Objects were detected by pilots and flight controllers.
The event lasted approximately 3 hours and UFOs were observed by pilots and towers in 4 states, Goiás, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná.
COMDABRA, the Brazilian Aerospace Defense Command, considered flight safety to be threatened and so the Brazilian Air Force was called in to pursue and intercept the UFOs.
The following day, Minister of Aeronautics Lieutenant-Brigadier Octávio Júlio Moreira Lima, gave a press conference, together with the fighter pilots, confirming the events and in 2009 the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) declared the seriousness and veracity of what happened.

During the press conference, Moreira Lima also promised a report in about a month and transparency during investigations into the incident. The promise, unfortunately, was not fulfilled and the report completed on June 2, 1986, was only made public in 2013, thanks to the Access to Information Law.
According to the report, the Brazilian Air Force confirms the existence of UFOs that are operated by intelligent beings.
“As a conclusion from the constant facts observed, in almost all presentations, this Command is of the opinion that the phenomena are solid and reflect in a certain way intelligence, due to the ability to follow and maintain distance from observers, as well as flying in formation, not necessarily manned”.

But the recordings recently released by the FAB were, until now, the best evidence of what happened, where the natural dialogue between pilots and operators can be heard in full and in rich detail.
In the original audio from the São José dos Campos control tower, we can hear the dialogue between the pilot and the tower:
“It’s shining brightly now. There’s no navigation light, it’s just a bright spot, it’s been stuck in the same position since I started seeing it. It looks like a star, but I’ve checked and it’s not,” says the pilot.
In another part of the recording we hear the following: “It’s moving away, it’s getting smaller, it’s gone! Brasília, is there anything? The object is gone! It’s coming back now, it’s coming back, it’s increased in brightness. I can’t be seeing things. It’s crazy here”.
It goes without saying that this set of qualities witnessed by pilots does not exist in any aircraft with terrestrial technology.
